Sanjiv Desai has more than 40 years of industry experience, specializing in mobile, PC, and wireless platforms. Throughout his career, he has held a variety of architecture and engineering management roles, focusing on CPU and chipset design, platform development, and spearheading the strategy and development of industry standards.

Leadership at Intel
In his most recent role as a senior director within the Client Computing Group’s architecture team at Intel, Sanjiv was responsible for defining architectures of Intel’s next-generation client platforms. Over the course of 30 years, he spearheaded the development of Intel's client and mobile platform standards strategy and led development of key standards essential to both mobile and PC platforms.

Earlier in his career at Intel, Sanjiv managed the mobile systems and wireless advanced architecture group. He led the development of Intel’s first Centrino™ notebook platform and was instrumental in leading several engineering teams to deliver a diverse portfolio of notebook platform chipsets and components. His leadership contributed to the creation of Intel’s first integrated CPUs for notebook platforms.

Chairmanship and Leadership at MIPI Alliance
As Chairman of the Board of Directors for the MIPI Alliance, Sanjiv Desai led the board and managed the organization’s general operations. In addition to driving MIPI organization strategic direction, his responsibilities included overseeing the adoption of MIPI specifications, directing the activities of various working groups, and identifying opportunities for new initiatives. During his 18-year tenure on the MIPI Board, he also served in positions such as Treasurer and Vice Chairman.

Academic Background
Sanjiv Desai earned his Master of Science degree in electrical engineering from North Carolina A&T State University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from M.S. University in India.
